Responsive Web Design - OMD

During my final year project, I collaborated with synth-pop band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (as a real-world client). Their existing website was redesigned to incorporate a responsive design layout through a low to mid-fidelity design process which included wireframe prototypes, Photoshop mock-ups and an interactive prototype (using InVision).

A high-fidelity prototype was produced for the client (using HTML5, CSS and JQuery). The prototype received very positive feedback from record company representatives (100% Records) and Andy McCluskey (band member). The client has approved for the design to be implemented as part of the announcement of their new album “The Punishment of Luxury”. It was unveiled on Monday 15th May 2017.

“We've been absolutely thrilled with Cameron's work on this project. Not only has he delivered a final product which is exactly what we had in mind, he has been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout. The brief has subtly changed on occasion as the project has progressed and Cameron has dealt with these challenges thoroughly and professionally. His communication has been first-rate and he has used a real "client-first" approach. He has been quick and effective when solving problems that were noticed on the prototype.
The website far exceeds our expectations. We are delighted that he has been involved with this project and look forward to many successful future years of collaboration.”

University Technology Challenge 2014

The University Technology challenge was jointly sponsored by Barclays, BBC Future Media and Bank of America and contested by 8 universities from the north of England. The final took place at Media City, Salford.  The challenge was to design a system that would surface currently trending BBC content to their audience and offer them onward journeys, as the LJMU team we focused on BBC iPlayer and created an interactive prototype. My role in the team was Interface Designer. I won a one week work experience at the BBC from May 18th – 22nd May.

During a week’s work experience, I attended creative meetings and shadowed the UX/UI Design Team and designed a high-fidelity concept of BBC Wimbledon’s Live Coverage presence using Adobe Illustrator. My concept was implemented into a webpage using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
